Kortrijk presents midware on Eurocities forum

The City of Kortrijk presented ideas on midware and personalised services at the Eurocities Knowledge Society Forum in Tallinn (Estonia). In his presentation, Luk Van Beneden stressed the importance of exchanging data in order to provide integrated governmental services. Building a good midware solution is a key issue: "Central government is busy with mid office projects, but not always taking in account the typical needs of local authorities."

Eurocities is a network of major European cities, working together on exchanging best practices and on lobbying the European institutions for a better inclusion of urban requirements in European policies. Kortrijk is an associated partner of the network for the forums of cooperation and participation and knowledge society. Edinburgh and Karlstad are other Smart Cities partners involved in Eurocities.
