Lillesand is streamlining municipal processes

Late autumn 2008, Lillesand municipality picked up the project again and started with a steering group commitee. The commitee is consisted by municipal chief executive (CEO), manager of record management group, Head of Information and the CIO.

From earlier on, some 20 working processes in back-office were identified and partly documented using workflow and BPMN. The target of this project is picking up the unfinished work and move on, specifically focused on resource demanding and complex processes like building permit or area planing and development.

At beginning of February 2009, Brit L. Kristensen started in a part-time position as process implementor and facilitator. She plans the workshops with involved departments and moves forward.

Overall objectives:
- get processes documented and improved in understanding and involvement from department executives.
- get process steps described and implemented in Record Management system, in order to assist the office executives to handle the cases with quality and efficiency (throughput time)
- get the case process streamlined, from the e-form filling to the feedback to applicants.
