The new tourist office is a bit “hidden”, i.e. not so easy to find for tourists. The pilot will install make 5 digital interactive kiosks as “antennas” at places where visitors/tourists enter the city.

The new tourist office is a bit “hidden”, i.e. not so easy to find for tourists. The idea is to make some “antennas” on places where visitors/tourists enter the city. Those antennas are seen as digital interactive kiosks. The pilot is aimed at tourists and visitors of the city – students that go to college in the city – visitors of the “Kortrijk Xpo” venue.

  • 3 digitals kiosk on public places in the city
  • 2 places where our content is available on kiosks from others
  • a flexible software platform adapted for different interfaces:
  1. touchscreen-interface

  3. normal internet site
  • cooperation with partners that want to adapt

Background to the pilot: 

The new tourist office is a bit “hidden”, i.e. not so easy to find for tourists. The idea is to make some “antennas” on places where visitors/tourists enter the city. Those antennas are seen as digital interactive kiosks.

Business case: 

The city wants to improve its tourist profile. The tourist office is in a splendid location and a beautifully restored historic building, but is not a logical place to find for tourists. On 5 strategic places the city wants to establish a tourist antenna with an outstanding design and state of the art technology. In this way the city wants to make visible and clear that tourists are welcome in the city.
