On May 25, 2010 the Flemish ICT Organisation vzw organizes a Flemish ICT meeting for local authorities. Presentations on the congress are about quality, IT management, information architecture, archiving, GIS, etc. Intercommunale Leiedal provides two workshops at this meeting.
E-politician: how do local politicians deal with facebook, blogs and other new media?
How do local politicians interact online? How can new media contribute to improved participation in local political debate? Research in 2009 shows that many local politicians hardly use online resources for their political work. Due to a lack of knowledge? No time? Not interested? Based on research and an experiment in the Kortrijk region participants will gain not only an overview of current practices, but also seven tips for the novice e-politician.
Better service by using IT? Presentation of the Smart Cities project.
The municipalities in the region Kortrijk work on better services. A study based on more than 3,000 interviews of people of five municipalities by Memori (KHMechelen), a workshop on services with policy makers and a lot of practical work on contact information, service list and MyPage. All these projects have to same baseline: How to organize services based on the expectations of citizens and how to detect those expectations? The answer lies in a combination of customer profiling, use of the service list and other Smart Cities tools.
