DIGITAL CITY SELF-ASSESSMENT TOOL - Analysis tool to assess and identify priority areas for smart solutions
Memori (B) wrote a framework paper describing the 'Smart Digital City' in 10 characteristics. Based on this framework paper a self assessment tool was developed, allowing cities to evaluate their developments in the digitization of their services. The self assessment tool has an automated reporting tool. After completing the tool the municipality immediately gets a status of its development towards a digital city, compared to its own level of ambition. These results are a momentary impression.
The Smart Digital City is described in 10 approaches. A Smart Digital City is a city well performing in all 10 characteristics: it is in touch with its clients, citizens, local economy, visitors and co-workers, builds a community, includes everyone and is well organized, innovative and sustainable. In other words, a Smart Digital City is built on a 'smart' combination of these characteristics, indicating a well balanced and integrated vision and policy.
